Our mission is to show people the wonders of geology through rigorous reporting and place-based education. Our Earth is alive and has fantastic stories to tell us, if we learn to speak its language. When people come to know the story of their own landscapes, awe transforms into responsibility - and responsibility into stewardship.

As a geologist, I spend my days reading the Earth's history written in stone, and my free time exploring the landscapes that wrote it. Here I am at Indian Pond, a hydrothermal explosion crater, in Yellowstone National Park.

We never stop learning about the places we live and work in.

No matter what we're doing or where we are, we always have the tools to get the job done right the first time.
